Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Last Updated: February 2026

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising, US Cost Index discloses how we generate revenue to keep our computational tools, research, and data sets 100% free for public use.

1. Display Advertising

We display advertisements provided by third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense. These ads are clearly designated with labels such as "Advertisement" or "Sponsor Content." Advertisers do not influence our engineering calculations, data sources, or editorial conclusions.

2. Contractor Referral Partnerships

US Cost Index features interactive links and forms enabling homeowners to request competitive quotes from pre-screened, licensed contractors (via networks such as Networx, Modernize, or Thumbtack). If you choose to submit a quote request, US Cost Index may receive referral compensation from our partner networks. This compensation occurs at zero additional cost to you.

3. Commitment to Objective Data

Our pricing formulas, BLS labor rates, and federal tax credit calculations are driven exclusively by official public records. We never alter our cost ranges or equipment recommendations to favor any advertiser, manufacturer, or contractor network.
